Chests
A Chest is a type of reward system Brawlhalla. They can be earned in various ways and give different rewards when opened, all serving as a randomized way to grant cosmetics to the player.
Chests can be lumped into two categories: chests earned from the Store that contain exclusive skins, and chests with non-exclusive items.
Store Chests
Store chests contain a selection of skins, with most chests containing 18 skins; 3 chest-exclusive skins and 15 regular skins. The only exception to this is Odin's Chest, which contains 2 exclusive skins and 14 regular skins.
Store chests can be bought for 
100 to get a random skin specific to that chest and can be used until the buyer owns all skins part of that chest. No duplicate skins can be earned from any chest.
Two chests are available in the Mallhalla every day, with one chest rotating out at 5:00 AM EST.

Non-Exclusive Chests
There are several chests that can be earned outside of the Store. Unlike Store chests, these chests have no exclusive skins inside, and have a wider variety of items that can be obtained when opened. These seem to be random cosmetics from the Store, though the exact rewards from each chest are not known.
Some of these chests also have the potential to reward 
gold.
