Mustafar is one of the Maps available in Brawlhalla, added as part of the Star Wars crossover. This map takes place on the planet Mustafar, a magma world where Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi dueled in Star Wars: Episode III.

This is the first standard Brawlhalla map to include an environmental hazard. The bottom killzone is replaced with a pool of lava that deals damage on contact. This lava rises and lowers throughout the duration of the match, and also destroys any items that are dropped into it. The lava ignores all forms of invincibility, including dodges, and removes said invincibility when dealing damage.

When a player dies from touching the lava, if the player did not touch the ground or wall before dying, the kill credit is given to the last person to hit. If the player did touch the ground or wall, the death is counted as an accident.

The lava deals 30 damage at its base, but is affected by the hit player's defence, and by the kill-credited player's strength. If there is no kill credited player, the strength of the player that got hit is used. This also affects variable force.

Hitting your teammate into the lava applies the 0.75 force multiplier. Touching the lava yourself does not.

The lava stuns any player it hits for 18 frames.

The stage itself consists of almost nothing but molten rock and lava, with gigantic volcanoes sprawling throughout the background. The central stage is a large, square rock, and above are 3 soft platforms.

  • The smallest platform moves constantly in a square pattern, going down on the left side, under the map and back up from the right. The platform moves to the left for 31.25 seconds, then down for 62.5 seconds, then to the right for 31.25 seconds, then up for 62.5 seconds, and finally to the left back to its original location for ~10.4 seconds.
  • The larger platforms move slowly from left to right, taking 62.5 seconds to move, and pause for 31.25 seconds once they have reached either end.

Throughout a match, the bottom lava pool will rise to different levels:

  • Initial: Lava is low, covering half the main rock. The lava stays at this level for 31.25 seconds. Changing to phase 1 takes ~10.4 seconds.
  • Phase 1: Lava rises, covering the rock entirely. The lava stays at this level for ~20.8 seconds. Changing to phase 2 takes ~10.4 seconds.
  • Phase 2: Lava lowers, exposing a small rock to the left. The lava stays at this level for ~20.8 seconds. Changing to phase 3 takes 31.25 seconds.
  • Phase 3: Lava rises to its highest, covering all but the top soft platform. The lava stays at this level for ~10.4 seconds. Changing to phase 4 takes ~10.4 seconds.
  • Phase 4: Lava goes down to its lowest, exposing another small rock to the right. The lava stays at this level for ~10.4 seconds. Changing back to the initial phase takes ~10.4 seconds.

Trivia

  • Players are able to Ledge Cancel on the lava which counts as a ground touch. This allows players to regain their aerial options and benefit from the ground touch dodge cooldown reduction.
  • In Training Mode, it's possible to make bots freely stand and walk on the lava without getting hurt by using the position reset feature.
  • Mustafar was originally available as part of the 1v1 Map Set, though this would be removed in Patch 8.08.
