Chasm is one of the Maps available in Brawlhalla. This map takes place in a city destroyed by the apocalypse. The world is ruined with broken powerlines, falling towers and exposed magma in the background. A giant skeleton with a sword looms over the map, likely Death personified of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. There is still some life in this world, as a small bunker can be seen in the center of the stage - but safety is not guaranteed as a pile of bones lays ominously above the shelter.
This map was added in Patch 8.05, with its fourth variation - Apocalyptic Chasm - being added in Patch 8.07.
Variations
- Standard/Static: The stage is flat with short walls and diagonal undersides connecting to a flat bottom.
- Crumbling: Identical to the standard version, however pieces from the side fall off as time progresses. These pieces start falling slowly, then drop fast once they are no longer connected to the main stage. They can also be stood on and jumped off of while falling.
- Small/Crumbled: The sides of the stage are gone, and only the center bunker remains. This leaves the stage as a small rectangular box, with walls almost as tall as the floor is wide.
- Apocalyptic: Identical to Crumbling Chasm, but with two soft platforms on top that never move.
Trivia
- Chasm and Crumbled Chasm are not currently in any map sets (other than the "All" set).
- In online matchmaking, Crumbled Chasm is currently only available in Experimental 1v1.
- There's currently an issue on Crumbling Chasm where the very bottom of each falling piece is slightly thinner than the rest of the piece, creating two corners. The outer corner can catch players jumping or recovering which will cut their ascent short and/or bounce them downwards. The inner corner faces the outer wall of the neighboring piece creating a small opening that may trap players if they dodge or recover into it.
Outer corner catching a recovery attempt
Inner corner trapping a player.
