Map Set
The Map Set is the pool of Maps players can select from in Custom Online and Couch Party lobbies. This can be configured in the settings menu in the lobby of these gamemodes.
By default, the map set is configured to "Auto", which will automatically select a map set based on how many players are in the lobby. If you do not want to play by a specific map set, the "All" map set will simply allow any map from the gamemode to be selected.
Standard Map Sets
FFA Map Set
This map set is intended for 3 to 4 players. It is currently being used in Free-for-All.
1v1 Map Set
This map set is intended for 2 players. It is currently used in Strikeout and Ranked 1v1
2v2 Map Set
This map set is intended for 4 players with teams enabled. It is currently used in Friendly and Ranked 2v2.
3v3 Map Set
This map set is intended for 6 players with teams enabled, however it does not get used if the "Auto" map set is enabled.
Big Map Set
This map set is intended for matches with 5 or more players. It is used if the "Auto" map set is enabled regardless if teams are also enabled.
Tournament 1v1 Map Set
This map set is used in 1v1 matches for official tournaments.
Tournament 2v2 Map Set
This map set is used in 2v2 matches for official tournaments.
Tournament 3v3 Map Set
This map set is intended to be used in 3v3 matches for tournaments.
Gamemode Specific
Non-standard gamemodes typically have different map sets than regular. Some of these gamemodes can only be played on custom maps, and thus do not have any selection for map sets. Other gamemodes, however, can be played on regular maps, and have unique map sets.
Crew Battle
Crew Battle only features the 1v1 and Tournament 1v1 map sets. These are both identical to the standard 1v1 and Tournament 1v1 map sets.
Snowbrawl
Snowbrawl features two map sets: Big (which is identical to the regular Big map set) and a unique FFA map set.
Snowbrawl FFA Map Set
Bubble Tag
Bubble Tag features two unique map sets: 2v2 and Big.
Bubble Tag 2v2 Map Set
This is used for lobbies of 4 players or less.
Bubble Tag Big Map Set
This is used for lobbies of 5 players or more.
Dice & Destruction
Dice & Destruction features 5 unique map sets, alongside using the standard Tournament 1v1 and Tournament 2v2 sets. These map sets are similar to their standard counterparts, typically only removing maps with ceilings or high item spawns from the pool.
Dice & Destruction FFA Map Set
This is used for lobbies of 3-4 players with teams disabled.
Dice & Destruction 1v1 Map Set
This is used for lobbies of 2 players.
Dice & Destruction 2v2 Map Set
This is used for lobbies of 3-4 players with teams enabled.
Dice & Destruction 3v3 Map Set
This is used for lobbies of 5-6 players with teams enabled.
Dice & Destruction Big Map Set
This is used for lobbies of 5-8 players with teams disabled, or 7-8 players with teams enabled.
