Dice & Destruction

Dice & Destruction is one of the gamemodes available in Brawlhalla. It can be played in Custom Online matches and is sometimes available as the Brawl Of The Week.
Mechanics
This gamemode goes by standard Timed rules but with a twist - every 13 seconds (20 seconds for the first time in the match), a dice is rolled and a random event is selected. These events last 30 seconds each before a new event is rolled.
Events
Infinite Gadget Spawns
This event causes only Gadgets to spawn at an increased spawn rate. While regular weapon drops do not spawn, Sidekick Summoners can still be used to get weapons. This event is bugged. The normal spawn rates are only restored 25% of the time, meaning this event often breaks weapon spawning. Additionally, even at the 25% chance, the spawn rates are restored to an incorrect amount. | |
Sidekick Swarm
This event causes each player's sidekick to continuously fly in from the right side, for the duration of the event. The gap between sidekick spawns is picked randomly between 1 and 2 seconds. Players can not get hit by their own sidekick, and if your sidekick gets a KO it will count as your KO. If a player is KO'd during the event, their sidekick will stop flying in while they bring their player back to the stage. | |
Broken Shield
For the duration of this event, any player with less than 150 damage is immediately set to 150 damage. Players will also have red broken shield particle effects around them for the duration of the event. Once the event is over, all players are set to 0 damage. | |
Bomb Rain
This event causes bombs to rain down from the sky, shooting down at different trajectories. The gap between bomb spawns is picked randomly between 0.5 and 1.5 seconds. Bombs from this rain always stay active, even if dropped on the ground. Each bomb disappears within 8 seconds. They can be picked up and thrown like regular bombs, but if the player is disarmed holding one it will be active and instantly explode. If a player is KO'd by a stray bomb from the bomb rain, it will count as a KO for whoever recently hit the player; if no one recently hit the player it will be an accident (-3 points). | |
Armageddon
This event is simply Bomb Rain and Sidekick Swarm at the same time. Specifically, it acts like bomb rain, but for each bomb spawn there is a 50% chance to also spawn a sidekick. |
Event Chances
The chances for each event are different depending on the previous roll.
Each time a new event occurs, a 20-sided dice is rolled to determine the event (though this number can't be seen in-game). Each event has multiple numbers that cause it to play. Despite this, if the number from a roll is in the same "holding group" as the previous roll, the first event from the next group over will instead play.
The following are the numbers associated with each event (these are the event chances for the first roll only).

Some logic is dependent on the roll:
- Only Roll 1 restores the item spawning rates.
- Only rolls 9, 10, and 11 play the appropriate debuff and heal sounds for the event. Roll 12 does not.
- Rolls 2 and 3 play a unique "disarm" sound at the start of the event. This might be a leftover from the scrapped "Recycle" event.
The following are the "holding groups." These make it so if the current rolled number is in the same group as the previous rolled number, the first event from the next group will be played instead.

Examples:
- If the previous roll is 17 and the current roll is 14, instead of Bomb Rain the event will be Armageddon (from group 5 to group 6).
- If the previous roll is 9 and the current roll is 11, the event will still be Broken Shield (from group 3 to group 4, the first event in group 4 is Broken Shield).
- If both the previous and current roll are 20, instead of Armageddon the event will be Infinite Gadgets (group 6 loops back to group 1).

Trivia
- The name of this mode is a reference to Dungeons & Dragons (often abbreviated D&D).
- There is an unused "Recycle" event that can not be played. The icon can sometimes be seen on the sides of the dice during a roll. This event would supposedly cause all players to drop their weapons.
