Overview

Mega Man is ready to brawl in Valhalla! He’s got his Mega Buster, some new Rush Battle Boots, and Signature Attacks that feature abilities like the Metal Blade. With him comes an iconic KO Effect, a Beat Sidekick, the Rush Rocket Lance, 2 new Avatars, and some Emoji Skins featuring characters like Dr. Wily, Proto Man, and Roll. Follow Met in Mallhalla to find all the Mega Man themed items!

Patch 8.14 also includes more Crossover goodness! All Brawlhalla-vania items are available at a discount from today, September 25th, through October 15th before they fade back into the night.

We’ve also made Balance changes including key updates for Ada and Vivi, Ranked Season 34 begins next week, and even more in-game items are on discount sales now!

Mega Man Mythic Crossover

Mega Man is ready to fight for robots, humans, and all other beings in the Grand Tournament! Not only is he armed with his iconic Mega Buster, Rush has even transformed into a new set of Battle Boots. Also featuring custom Signature FX with his iconic Metal Blade, Flame Sword, and his Neutral Blaster Signature features an appearance from Rush in his dog form!

Last Chance to claim Brawlhalla-vania!

Last chance! From September 25th through October 15th, we will be celebrating Simon & Alucard with a discount sale on all Brawlhalla-vania Items!

After that, on October 16 at 5am ET, all Brawlhalla-vania Items will no longer be available for purchase, and Dracula’s Castle & Inverted Dracula’s Castle maps will be phased out of the game.

Do not worry though! Any Items you purchased will stay in your inventory and remain available for you to use as normal.

Balance

This balance pass contains further adjustments for our newest Legends, and some improvements for key Signatures on older Legends, as it brings us into the balance lock for the World Championship.

Ada’s Neutral Blasters now has significantly greater threat coverage along the blasts, as well as significantly improved setup consistency leading into the final blast.

We have also significantly increased the maximum Force of Ada’s Down Blasters to better match its overall risk and total commitment time.

  • Neutral Blasters: Greatly increased threat coverage towards the user for the grounded and aerial blasts; Improved setup logic for the grounded blasts; Slightly decreased maximum horizontal travel during the blasts for greater consistency into the final blast.
  • Down Blasters: Increased Force from a range of 55~30 Fixed/45~20 Variable to a range of 60~30 Fixed/52~20 Variable.
Diana’s Down Blasters now has less Minimum Charge time for more reliable use in the neutral game and as a punish option. This Signature also has less Recover time on miss to help offset its lengthy total commitment.
  • Down Blasters: Decreased Minimum Charge time from 11 to 9; Decreased total Recover time on miss from 21 to 19.
We have decreased the Minimum Charge time of Ember’s Neutral Katars for more responsive use as an anti-air attack. We have also decreased this Signature’s Recover time to help offset its lengthy total commitment.
  • Neutral Katars: Decreased Minimum Charge time from 7 to 6; Decreased total Recover time from 20 to 18.
Imugi’s Side Greatsword now has greater Recover time to allow a wider opportunity to retaliate against this Signature. It also has less vertical threat coverage near the end of the Hit Window to allow for easier escapes and approaches.

Imugi’s Down Greatsword now has greater Minimum Charge time to allow a wider opportunity to evade or interrupt this versatile Signature.

We have increased the Time to Hit of the initial strike of Imugi’s Side Axe to better match its threat coverage and bring it in line with other similar attacks.

  • Side Greatsword: Increased total Recover time from 24 to 26; Decreased maximum vertical threat coverage at the end of the Hit Window.
  • Down Greatsword: Increased Minimum Charge time from 10 to 12.
  • Side Axe: Increased Time to Hit of the first swing from 15 to 17.
Sir Roland’s Neutral Rocket Lance now has less Recover time to help offset its lengthy total commitment.
  • Neutral Rocket Lance: Decreased total Recover time from 17 to 14.
We have adjusted the Hurtbox of Vivi’s Neutral Battle Boots to keep it from evading over low grounded attacks and gadgets.

We have also increased the Recover time of Vivi’s Down Battles Boots to grant an even wider opportunity to line up a punish after evading or maneuvering around this attack.

  • Neutral Battle Boots: Lowered Hurtbox to not evade certain low grounded attacks.
  • Down Boots: Increased total Recover time from 20 to 22.
Wu Shang’s Neutral Spear now has less Force to better match its utility and relatively wide threat coverage.
  • Neutral Spear: Decreased Force from 70 Fixed/52 Variable to 60 Fixed/50 Variable.

Ranked Season 34 Starts Next Week!

Beyond Glory there is immortality… or at least there are Ranked Rewards that will last a lifetime!

On October 2nd, a new Ranked climb begins! Two weeks later on October 16th the Valhallan ranks will open up!

Full details will be revealed the day of the reset, but as a preview, this season’s Ranked Queue rotation will include the following modes:

  • October 2, 2024 – Ranked 2v2 Oddbrawl
  • November 6, 2024 – Ranked 2v2 Capture the Flag
  • December 11, 2024 – Ranked 2v2 Bombsketball

Bug Fixes

UI

  • Fixed a bug where players’ names in couch party are always grayed out after a couch party game.
  • Fixed a bug where the Dice and Destruction Game Mode icon wasn’t displaying in the Public Games Browser.
  • Fixed a bug where the Training Settings menu wasn’t properly refreshing when opening it in Training Mode.
  • Fixed a visual bug where Lucien’s and Azoth’s splash art icons were not rendering properly on console.

UX

  • Fixed a bug where the gadget selection would not properly reset after exiting an old Custom Game Lobby and trying to create a new one.

Art & Animation

  • Fixed a bug where a Legends’ legs would disappear in some Katars throw animations.
  • Fixed a bug where players with the “Pet the Sidekick” Emote equipped as a Victory/certain Sidekicks’ heads would disappear in the post-match victory/defeat screen.
  • Fixed several visual bugs that were causing Fallen Prince Teros Tier 3 to not appear correctly on Consoles.

Gameplay

  • Fixed a visual bug where the proper animation for dropping through a soft platform wasn’t playing when players dropped through the angled soft platform on “The Fangwild” Map.
  • Fixed a bug where players would automatically dash upon exiting a bubble.
  • Fixed a bug where using the Sidekick Summoner Horn on Starlight Falls would sometimes spawn your Weapon inside a platform.
  • Fixed several bugs that caused players who were trapped in a Bubble Bomb’s Bubble while being KO’d in Buddy or Street Brawl would keep them trapped in the bubble for the rest of the game.

Game Improvements

UI

  • Updated the design for the Points Numbers in-game!
  • Adjusted Blasters positioning in the weapon picker window to better display asymmetrical Blasters skins.

UX

  • Introducing an all new “Mayhem” Map set for those who like to go all-out! Including Maps such as Crumbling Chasm, Starlight Falls, Siege of Lions, and more.
  • Steam now fully supports the use of PS5 controllers!
  • “Climb” and “Showdown” are now listed as selectable Maps instead of individual Game Modes. This allows for all-new combinations between these and other Game Modes!
  • Fixed an issue where the “Rocket Lance Walk Off” pre-challenge demonstration was not playing correctly.

Art & Animation

  • Added hit effects to all of Thea’s Signature attacks and Tezca’s Down Boots Signature attack.

Gameplay

  • Greatly improved consistency of landing attacks on bubbled players using Signature attacks, either from the Bubble Bomb Gadget or in Game Modes such as Bubble Tag.
  • We’ve improved Starlight Falls spawn points to limit players getting automatically KO-ed at spawn.

Localization

  • Updated the French translation for “Blasters”.
  • Fixed a Brazilian Portuguese mistranslation of the “Spear or Sword KOs” Daily Mission.
  • Fixed mistranslations of the “Masked Bandit’s Watch” Avatar in Brazilian Portuguese, Latin-American Spanish, and European Spanish.
  • Fixed the Brazilian Portuguese translation of the “Headmaster Fait” Skin.
