Promotional Distributions
Promotional Distributions are DLC-like distributions of items, typically as limited time offers. These can be held for a variety of reasons, including for events, tournaments, or sponsor collaboration.
Direct Distributions
Direct distributions are added directly to the player's account without needing to enter any code.

Mobile Launch Bear'dvar |
In celebration of Brawlhalla's launch on iOS and Android, players could receive the Bear'dvar skin for free by logging in on any platform from August 6 - 20, 2020. Players who already owned the skin were instead given 100 for logging in. |

Xbox Welcome Bundle | Starting November 6, 2018, all Xbox players earn Dark Age Orion, Trident, and Thumbs Up! for free. This promotion is still ongoing, and it is unknown if it will ever end. | ||||

Store Code Distributions
Store Code distributions are given to the player as a unique 12-digit code, which can be redeemed in-game in the Store on any platform (except iOS).

Charity Space Race Cassidy | During the September 25, 2020 charity stream, a gleam.io giveaway was promoted on Brawlhalla's social media. Players who followed Brawlhalla devs on Twitter and entered the giveaway would receive a code for the Space Race Cassidy skin. | |

Tournament Avatars |
Special avatars are sometimes given to participants and attendees of tournaments. These are distributed in different manners; some are given through in-person loot bags, some after confirming participation through email, etc. Some of these avatars are also given through Viewership Rewards or other limited giveaways, such as through Twitter. However these limited giveaways are normally very small, with typically less than 100 codes given. |

Official and Creator Giveaways |
Miscellaneous code giveaways sometimes occur on both official Brawlhalla social media and partnered creator social media. These first occurred on Twitch, namely with the Bigaway, but are now more likely to happen on platforms like Twitter and Discord. These giveaways typically occur to promote new updates or as prizes for contests, and can include the following as rewards:

Steam Key Distributions
Steam Keys were used for the earliest distributions, needing to be redeemed on the Steam client rather than in-game. These are not used for modern distributions anymore.

Community Colors |
During Beta and early Release, Community Colors were distributed as a Steam code. In turn this made them exclusive to PC players. This was later changed to be a Store code so CCs could be redeemed on any platform. Prior to Viewership Rewards, this color scheme could only be obtained through giveaways. These giveaways would be held on streams, Twitter, and content creators would be given bulk codes to do their own giveaways. |
