Stats

Stats are attributes tied to each Legend to define how they perform in-game.

There are four types of stats: strength, dexterity, defense, and speed. Each of these are measured on a scale from 0 (weak) to 10 (strong).

By default, each Legend has a unique composition of these four stats, with all stats adding up to a total of 22 points. These can be modified with Stances, which will improve a stat by 1 point and impair a different stat by 1 point. All Legends' default stats range from 3-9 points, with Stances allowing for stats to range from 2-10 points.

Strength

Strength affects how much damage and force is dealt by the Legend. Higher Strength means opponents take more knockback and damage for the same attack compared to Legends with lower strength. Damage dealt also depends on the opponent's Defense compared to the attacker's Strength.

Dexterity

Dexterity affects the length of recovery time after an attack. Recovery time is the amount of time after an attack where a player can not move or attack. Each attack's recovery time has a variable amount which can be decreased or increased depending on the Legend's Dexterity. This means that Legends with higher Dexterity will be able to move or attack faster after a previous attack than Legends with lower Dexterity.

Defense

Defense affects how much damage a Legend takes from all attacks, as well as how far the Legend is knocked back when struck.

With higher Defense, all attacks will deal less damage (see chart in Strength section for specifics).

Defense affects knockback by increasing the player's deceleration rate when that player's horizontal or vertical speed is above 96 units per frame. This means that with higher defense, the quicker the player's speed will be reduced to 0 when stunned.

Speed

Speed affects how fast the player's movement is. The higher Speed stat a player has, the faster their run speed, acceleration, and friction will be. Movement during attacks and dodges is also affected. Does not affect attack speed, nor dodge duration.
