This guide is intended to help players with completing missions for the Season One Classic Battle Pass. Note that this guide is mainly subjective; there is no one way to complete these missions.

Weekly Missions

Frequent Missions

These types of missions appear every week, and the strategy is similar for all of them.

Mission Strategy
KOs with specific Weapon

Simply play legends that use that weapon and you can progress this challenge over time.

If you do not feel like you are good at that weapon, you can try using a Legend who has another weapon you're more comfortable with. Once your opponent is low health, switch your weapon to the one for the challenge and KO your opponent.

Damage with specific Weapon This will complete over time if you play Legends who use that weapon. To speed up the process, play FFA and focus on only using light attacks with the specific weapon.
Wins with Legends that use a specific Weapon This will complete over time if you play Legends who use that weapon. If you do not feel comfortable with one of the weapons needed for a win, try playing Strikeout - chose two Legends you are confident with, and a third that uses the weapon you need to win. Even if you don't use that Legend in a Strikeout match, the win will still count.

Week 1

Mission Strategy
Win matches as Asgardian Legends

The following Legends count towards this mission:

Get KOs with Gravity-Canceled Attacks If you want to do this mission quickly, play FFA and focus on using these attacks. Otherwise, you can try to incorporate the attacks into your playstyle and progress the mission over time. Signatures with a large radius of effect work best with this mission.
Hit multiple opponents with a single Gadget

This must be done in either a 2v2 of FFA mode, as hitting the same opponent twice will not count. The easiest gadgets to use for this are the Spike Ball and Sidekick Summoner.

The Spike Ball is probably the best Gadget to use for this mission. All you need to do is hit two separate opponents with the Spike Ball - it doesn't have to be on the same throw. As long and you still have the same Spike Ball, you can repeat this process to progress this mission even more. Just be careful you don't toss it off the map.

The Sidekick Summoner is sometimes easier to use if your opponents are clumped together. Throwing the horn itself doesn't work, but blowing it to call in your sidekick does. If your opponents are busy fighting each other and are in line with your sidekick's path, they will likely both get hit by it.

You can try to use the Bouncy Bomb and Pressure Mine too, but your opponents will need to be hit at the exact same time, making it a bit harder.

Week 2

Mission Strategy
Win matches with the current Battle Pass Color Scheme The more you progress in the Battle Pass the easier it will be, as you'll have more Legends you can chose to win with (and more likely to get one with weapons you're good at).

Week 3

Mission Strategy
Deal 250 damage each with 2 Weapons in a match This can be done fairly easily in FFA by using a lot of signatures with both of your weapons.
First Strikes This is easiest done in 1v1 modes, as it will either be you or your opponent who gets the first strike. This will progress over time, and simply requires you to be slightly better than your opponent for at least the first stock.
Be the first to say 'GG' If you hold down your "say GG" button when a match finishes even before the post-match screen, you will immediately say it once the match is over. It is also of course easier to do this in 1v1 modes as you'll be competing against only one person to say GG.

Week 4

Mission Strategy
Get 5 KOs in a match This is best done in FFA. Use characters that you are good at or ones that have strong sweeping signatures that can KO multiple opponents, such as Teros.
Ground Pound KOs

You may find this easier in FFA as opponents will not be as focused on you, and are less likely to dodge your ground pound.

The weapons you use can also be helpful for their different ground pounds. Some useful weapons include the Spear, as it has a very wide ground pound, and the Gauntlets, as you can move left and right while ground pounding. This is mainly up to personal preference, though.

Gain Elo of any kind in Ranked matches Play Ranked matches and this will accumulate over time. Don't be worried if you lose matches; this mission does not regress when you lose Elo.

Week 5

Mission Strategy
Catch Gadgets thrown by opponents

Whenever you see an enemy holding a Gadget, throw away your weapon and get ready to catch it. If you're having a hard time catching, there is a Catch Bomb Training option in Training mode where you can practice.

In the case where your opponent leaves and you are left with a bot, you can trick the bot into picking up a Gadget by throwing away any other weapon drops. Once they run by a Gadget they will pick it up and try to throw it at you, making it easy to predict and catch.

Hit with 6 different Signature Attacks in a match This is easiest to do in FFA. Simply keep track of the signatures you've hit with one weapon, and once you've hit all on your first weapon switch over to your other weapon.
Double KOs

The best mode for this is FFA since there are more opponents to KO.

Wait until your opponents are heavily damaged, and while they are fighting try to get them both in a single attack. Use attacks with heavy knockback that can hit multiple opponents at once, such as Lance side-air or Teros's Axe side-sig. Maps with close killboxes will also help, such as Fortress of the Lions.

Week 6

Mission Strategy
Hit below-stage opponents with Light Attacks This is best done in FFA by staying near the sides and knocking people off the stage. This works better on maps with lots of space under the stage or long walls, such as The Turtles' Lair or Florence Terrace.
Win matches in different matchmaking queues There are 8 different matchmaking queues, however only 4 need to be won to complete this mission.
Dash-thrown Weapon KOs

This is a tricky mission that will take some time in trial and error. When your opponent is low health and has been knocked far off the stage, dash (or dash-jump) and immediately throw your weapon at them to attempt to knock them off. Try to do it after they've used their dodge, so they can't dodge your weapon throw. This works best in 1v1 modes, as in other modes enemies can get in the way of your target.

This mission cannot be progressed with a thrown Gadget.

Week 7

Mission Strategy
Interrupt opponent Signatures with Weapon throws You may find this easy in FFA as people are more likely to use their signatures. Simply wait until someone uses a signature or try to bait one out, and throw quickly to hit them out of it.
Recovery Attack KOs

Any weapon can work with this, however some weapons have useful combos to secure a Recovery KO. One easy combo is Sword DLight into Recovery (while still holding forward) - this KOs most of the time at higher damage.

Other than combos, this is mostly up to catching your opponent while they are high damage mid-air. Any weapon can work for this, however it is important to note the Hammer is the only Recovery that sends your opponent downward, so you may like to use this to KO enemies off the edge.

Get KOs within 10 seconds of respawning

This is easiest done when playing against someone who is not as experienced as you, however can still work in fair matchups.

Try to get your opponent into red without KOing them - take into account how low defense they are and use attacks that have less knockback (ideally no knockback). Let them KO you, but don't be too obvious; if you purposefully fall off, there is a chance your opponent purposefully falls as well as a friendly gesture. Once you respawn get a KO as fast as possible. 10 seconds is a fair amount of time to get in a high knockback attack such as a side aerial or a signature, however you can also try to wait for your opponent to attack while you are still invulnerable from respawn and do a quick unarmed down heavy.

Random Legend wins You might prefer to do this in Strikeout, as you'll have a higher chance to randomly get a Legend you're confident with.

Week 8

Mission Strategy
Grab the other team's initial Weapon spawn In a 2v2 mode, focus on going to the enemy team's side and grabbing their weapon. If you can, try to remember where the weapon spawn is depending on the map, as different maps will have weapons spawn at different heights.
Dominate

Dominating requires getting 3 KOs in a single life.

If you are doing this in FFA, try to stay out of fights and focus on KOing high damage opponents while they are distracted.

Doing this in 1v1 modes may be harder, but still can be done. After getting your first KO, you won't be able to get KO'd again, so pick a character you're comfortable with and try to play aggressively.

Get a KO in a 1v1 match before taking 50 total damage

This mission comes down to being very focused. Pick your best Legend and start by playing very passively. Try to only attack your opponent when a window of opportunity is available, such as right after they've attacked. This mission may take longer than most because it is difficult to avoid getting hit for so long. Even if you are struggling, you will eventually get matched against someone not as good as you, which gives you a chance to progress the mission.

Getting multiple KOs before taking 50 damage will also count towards this mission.

Week 9

Mission Strategy
Win matches as Legends with "bot" in their bot name

Legends that count for this mission:

Be the first player to pick up an Item This is easier in 1v1 modes as the first item will always drop directly in the center. If you have "Pick Up with Quick Attack" enabled, it's better to have it disabled and instead try picking up the weapon with your throw button.

Week 10

Mission Strategy
Emote on Kor's Platform Kor's Platform is the leftmost floating platform on Blackguard Keep.
Perform Team Combos This is easiest to do in Friendly 2v2 - you don't need to worry about hitting your teammate, so just attack whoever they have stunned with an attack.
Get 2 KOs with Ground Pound Attacks in a match This is easiest to do in FFA since there are more opportunities to KO opponents.

Week 11

Mission Strategy
Win matches with each Stance type This works in Strikeout, so you can use 2 legends with stances you prefer and one other to progress the mission.
Perform 4-hit Strings

This is easiest done in 1v1 modes, as your string won't be interrupted by other opponents.

All that needs to be done is hit your opponent 4 times within 4 seconds and without getting hit - it does not need to be a true combo. Quick weapons like Blasters or Scythe are good options, however, it is best to use whatever weapon you are most skilled with. Weapons that are able to perform true combos are also useful for starting or finishing a string, such as Blasters down-light into side-light/side-air.

Hit opponents into armed Pressure Mines

You will want to get your opponent to high enough damage so they get launched further, and use attack with good knockback. The most common attacks people will use for this are side aerials or an unarmed side light, however any attack with knockback works.

The most important part is to know what attack to use depending on where your opponent is positioned. For example, if they are above the mine you would want to use an attack that sends them down like Gauntlets neutral air, but if they are on the side of the mine an attack that sends them straight forward like Hammer side air will work better.

Slide-charged Signature KOs

Slide-charging a signature is done by charging the signature while still moving off the ledge of a platform. It is typically easier to land slide-charge signatures on maps with many ledges or ledges close to the main platform, such as Big Miami Dome or Tree Fort. Since these maps are typically found in FFA, you may find more success getting KOs there.

In terms of best signatures to use, moving signatures like Mako's Greatsword s-sig or ones with range like Reno's Blasters s-sig are best. Avoid signatures that stop your legend's movement after slide charging.

Week 12

Mission Strategy
Interrupt opponent Recovery Attacks Since your opponent will likely be under you while recovering, you want to use moves with range so to not get hit by the recovery. Good options are well-timed weapon throws or attacks with hitboxes disjointed from the player, such as Sword down air or Orb ground pound.
Perform True Combos

These are some easy true combos that will work at any damage:

  • Blasters: down light -> side air
  • Bow: down light -> neutral light
  • Sword: down light -> side air
